Eric Chen, Ph.D. in Art from Tainan National University of the Arts, currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Chung Yuan Christian University, and the principal architect at ArchiBlur Lab and Co-Making Place. He has also served as a visiting professor at the School of Architecture and Built Environment at UCSI University in Malaysia. He has long explored developing a redefined scale of architecture between the body and the landscape, aiming to use the most genuine bodily sensations to repeatedly experience the fundamental values of things. This approach reexamines the role of human constructions and considers how to interact with natural ecosystems without being destructive or solely focused on human use. Instead, it actively seeks to understand and repair the environment. Through construction, he explores and responds to the coexistence and succession of life. The various forms of life accumulate different knowledge through this process, serving as an act of restoration for oneself, for life, and for the land. This approach also makes architecture a matter of the environment for both humans and non-humans.

ArchiBlur Lab
《植物的家 The Home of Plants》
Founded in October 2015, the team explores the relationship between "empathy" and architectural formation through creative practice, focusing on the interplay between the body and the landscape. By repeatedly engaging in physical interventions, they create possibilities for difference, fostering new ways of viewing relationships between things, material transformations, connections, and the displacement of the body's subjective position. This practice aims to realize the "empathy" of material texture, the "empathy" of constructive power, and the "empathy" of synchronized rhythms, ultimately seeking new beginnings in architecture.
